2010 Juby Wynne Regatta - New Orleans
Dieball Sailing customer Tommy Meric wins tie-breaker with Larry Frost in the 2nd stop on the Lightning Southwest Circuit!
Congratulations to Tommy Meric! Tommy came from behind in the last race to pull into a tie with rival Larry Frost, ultimately winning the tie-breaker!
Light wind and STORMS came through and Tommy shared some of the excitement:
"In the last race good start but held out to left too long ( Good Breeze with sketchy skies ) we lee-bowed the fleet at the weather mark with Larry to weather of all. He rounded first then us then Ian. We set then jibed and followed Larry to the leeward mark. He rounded 4 or 5 lengths ahead on the last beat. Halfway up he crosses us and goes a little left ( Short Beat ) we go a bit more right pick up a little shift with breeze tack and all out hike! We were hauling Ass and rounded ahead of Larry who came in about three boats back. We had another great set and jibed immediately. We going in to the finish were ahead by about 5 lengths with pole on headstay full hike and plane ( maneuvering around Finns that were on their first round ). Finished First. Big wind then continued with lightning strikes etc. and the regatta was over. We anchored near a power boat and assisted other boats after the storm blew through.
