ns-logo-master-15-cmyk-1.pngNorth Sails, the largest division of North Technology Group, is the world leader in sailmaking technology. Founded in 1957 by Lowell North, the Group comprises three market leading marine brands, all focused on providing innovative and high performance products and solutions to the worlds sailors & yachtsmen.

North Sails holds the patent for 3Di, a unique composite construction process that produces high-performance sails that approach the shape holding of a rigid foil. North Sails is the sailmaker of choice on the majority of Americas Cup, Grand Prix, ocean race boats and Superyachts. North Sails offers a wide range of performance 3D and paneled sails for cruising sailors and is the world’s leading sailmaker for one-design classes with more National, World and Olympic Class victories than all other sailmakers combined. The division operates 147 sales and sail care sites in 63 countries, with manufacturing facilities in the United States and Sri Lanka.

North Cruising Sails - Unmatched quality, durability and performance...it's why more sailors rely on North Sails than any other sailmaker in the world. North Sails' dedication to performance has led to the development of cruising products that are faster, lighter and more durable than ever before. From breakthrough innovation in sailcloth materials to sail care that is held to the highest standards - more than 50 years of North Sails experience will be with you on every leg of your adventure. North Racing Sails - The North Sails brand is recognized worldwide for superior technology, design, and performance. North Sails have helped power more sailing teams to victory than any sailmaker in history. We have no plans on slowing down.

2D Paneled Sails - The traditional method of sail construction is to stitch or glue together flat 2-dimensional segments (panels) of woven or laminated material to form the sail. Using a method called broad seaming, the edges of the panels are given curvature so that when the assembled sail is pressurized by wind, it will assume a specified flying shape. In essence, 2D segments have been assembled to emulate a 3D form. This is how sails have been made for hundreds of years and how all 2D sails are still made today. Request an estimate...

3D Molded Sails - A more modern method of shaping a sail is to thermo-form it on a full-sized 3-dimensional mold in the precise flying shape it will assume when sailing. The resulting sail will have smooth, compound curvature in all directions and sail loads will be distributed more efficiently. Only North 3D sails (3DL® or 3Di) are manufactured on full-sized 3-dimensional molds using a patented process. Request an estimate...
